Billy Tiep is currently the cantor for the Touro Synagogue in New Orleans. Before his studies at HUC-JIR, Billy worked as the music director for the nursery school, religious school, and elementary school at Wilshire BLVD Temple in Los Angeles, CA. He has also directed music programs at Congregation Ner Tamid in Las Vegas, Congregation Anshei Israel, and Temple Emanuel in Tucson, AZ. While working in Tucson, Billy received his undergraduate degree in Music Education. Billy joined together with Scott Leader to form a Jewish music group (Billy and Scott).
After graduation, Billy worked in the Clark County School District (Las Vegas) as a music educator K-12. Billy has also been the Head Songleader at the UAHC Greene Family Camp (1997), and UAHC Kutz Camp (1998, 1999, 2003).
Billy and Scott have perfomed together across the country at synagogues, camps, and for the NFTY national convention in Los Angeles.
